Maintenance Specialist

Maintenance SpecialistWe are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance candidate who has good knowledge of related field and good communication skills. This role is responsible for day to day management of the maintenance workers in the areas of equipment and repair, facility and utility maintenance and repair. The Maintenance Specialist ensures compliance with all safety operating procedures, along with all Federal, State, and local environmental rules and regulations.Supervise, develop, and motivate the maintenance workers in the areas of facility and utility equipment troubleshooting, general repairs, and readingsAggressively manage all breakdown maintenance requirements to successful conclusionsSchedule and direct the day-to-day activities of the maintenance workers to achieve safe, timely, and satisfactory workResponsible for employee life cycle recruiting, onboarding, development, and trainingEvaluate the effectiveness of equipment functionality and schedule necessary repairs or suggest changes in operating methods in order to improve operationsDevelop, implement, and maintain the department's preventative maintenance proceduresOversee work in progress by outside contractors to determine adherence to plans and specifications, including fabricators, welders, and pneumatic and hydraulic expertiseTrack, measure, and document the performance of the maintenance mechanics on an individual basisDirectly assist with repairs and troubleshooting as neededA high school diploma or equivalent (required); with at least five years of maintenance experience or advanced education in electrical, mechanical1 year of direct supervisory experience requiring knowledge of refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems as well as general facility repairsPrevious experience in at least two of the following areas: mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and instrumentationSkill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve organizational objectivesAbility to problem-solve and facilitate solutions with limited directionStrong planning, organization, customer service, and written/verbal communication skillsAbility to build strong, trusted working relationships with internal and external business customers and executive-level managementBasic computer literacy with the ability to do basic statistical analysisAbility to communicate factual information and provide directionExperience working in a 24/7 operation and ability to work holidays or weekendsWillingness to work extended hours when necessaryAbility to lift up to 50 lbsStrong commitment to safety with the demonstrated ability to motivate others to achieve safety and company goals
