About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Must hold a valid nursing license Certifications: BLS Certification required Must-Have: Must be comfortable managing patients classified as 'clean' and 'dirty' Description: Unit has a total of 28 beds, all private. Shifts are 7 AM to 7:30 PM for nurses. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. Staff must work 2 Fridays per schedule. No Nurse Aides on night shifts. Each day shift has 2 CNAs available. Patients are monitored remotely by a tech. Common diagnoses include post-surgical, orthopedic, pneumonia, dialysis, palliative care, hospice, and end-of-life care. Staff required to manage both direct care and monitoring of patients. Ability to self-schedule is permitted as long as unit needs are met. All shifts are twelve hours long, either days or nights. Cancellation policy allows for client-initiated cancellations. Charting system in use is Cerner. Comfort with telemetry patients is necessary, though no monitors are located on the unit. Clinical staff will have limited medication administration, primarily focusing on comfort measures. The director and manager administer chemotherapy in the unit. Must engage with diverse patient needs including those with varying levels of care.
