As a Security Officer Part Time Shopping Mall in Wheaton, MD , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.75 / Hour

DayTimeWed03:00 PM - 11:00 PMThur03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail shopping center.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters in accordance with site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout interior common areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and the property perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, observe activity within the location, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Document patrols, incidents, and daily activities accurately while maintaining a professional presence and supporting a welcoming environment for shoppers and tenants.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
