Job Title: RN Clinical Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Inpatient Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Less than 1 year preferred License: RN - Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS - Basic Life Support required Must-Have: - Ability to read, write, and speak English - Basic computer skills - Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills - Excellent time management skills - Ability to function in a fast-paced environment - Strong critical thinking skills Description: The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers. They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high-quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment that is administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders. The framework for practice is steered by a professional practice model and evidence-based practice and research. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by the core values of the organization. It is expected that all RN Clinical Nurses are licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Nurse Practice Act. They implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association. As a member of the patient services team, individuals are expected to uphold the voice of the patient while supporting service excellence goals. Core responsibilities include: Performing the Nursing Process in clinical care using evidence-based practice. Providing relationship-based patient-centered care consistent with population-specific characteristics. Partnering with patients and significant others to set and achieve care goals. Practicing using current clinical standards. Coordinating the delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care. Participating and supporting performance improvement initiatives. Completing all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments. Serving as a preceptor and/or mentor for new nurses and other staff. Promoting evidence-based practice and nursing research. Participating in data collection and addressing clinical questions with appropriate resources. Planning for patient care across the continuum in the course of giving direct care. Supporting the efficient use of human and material resources. Additional responsibilities include performing other duties as assigned. Compliance with organizational policies, standards of work, and code of conduct is required. Required minimum education includes an Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
