Job Title: Purchasing Clerk

City and State: Elgin, IL

Pay Rate: $24.00 - $25.00/hour

Schedule/Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire


Summary:
The Purchasing Clerk supports procurement operations within a regulated manufacturing environment by purchasing materials, maintaining purchasing records, monitoring inventory levels, and coordinating with vendors and internal departments to ensure the timely availability of materials needed for production and daily operations.


Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain purchase orders for raw materials, packaging components, maintenance supplies, office supplies, and other operational needs.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with Production, Warehouse, Planning, and Quality teams to prevent material shortages.
• Communicate with approved vendors regarding pricing, availability, order status, delivery schedules, and shipment updates.
• Review purchasing documentation, packing slips, invoices, and receiving records to resolve discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
• Maintain purchasing records and ERP system data while supporting compliance with GMP requirements, SOPs, and procurement policies.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Purchasing, or a related field preferred.
• 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, inventory control, or administrative experience preferred.
• Experience in an FDA-regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
• Proficiency with ERP or purchasing software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Strong organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
