A rewarding contract opportunity is available for a Special Education Resource Room teacher to support high school students for the 2026/2027 school year. This position offers a steady weekday schedule, from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, and is ideal for a dedicated professional who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in students’ lives.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Arizona Special Education (SPED) teaching license
- ELA (English Language Arts) certification required
- IVP Fingerprint clearance card (current/valid)
- Prior experience with special education in a resource room, especially at the high school level, is a strong advantage
- Ability to collaborate with general and special education staff
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized instruction and support in ELA to high school students with varying needs in a resource room setting
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in collaboration with other staff and families
- Monitor student progress and adjust lesson plans as needed to promote achievement
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and inclusive classroom environment
- Participate actively in meetings, trainings, and school events as required
