Perks of working at ColonialWebb Market, competitive wages based on experience Opportunities for career growth, training, and development 401(k) plan with a generous company match Personal leave, paid holidays, bereavement leave Excellent Medical, dental, vision, and Rx drug insurance Life and accidental death insurance Short and Long-Term Disability insurance Employee referral incentives A day in the life Mechanics will layout, fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal products and other related equipment associated with commercial HVAC equipment and related mechanical systems (ductwork, plenums, fire dampers, and diffusers, air handling units, VAV boxes, fan power boxes) on large commercial and industrial construction projects Typical construction projects include hospitals, data centers, high-rises, universities, secondary schools, and government facilities Select gauge and type of sheet metal according to SMACNA Locate and mark dimensions per plans, specifications and shop drawings Fabricate duct onsite to include miter and alterations to shop fabricated duct Use hand tools and portable power tools in the installation of joints of duct such as slide and drive, TDF, snap lock, and other assemblies as required Lay out openings and coordinates with other trades Erect and install equipment such as air handling units, VAV boxes, fan power boxes, and others as required You should have Work experience as a Sheet Metal Mechanic for commercial construction projects. (Journeyman level experience is preferred, license not required) Experience with layouts and ability to read and work from drawings Ability to direct the work of a helper or apprentice Safety-minded and knowledge of OSHA safety regulations Initiative; self-motivated (driven), self-starter Knowledge of basic construction/shop math Knowledge of International Mechanical Code (IMC) and Sheet Metal and Air Contractors National Association (SMACNA) standards A reliable source of transportation to and from work Veterans and those with previous military experience are encouraged to apply.
