This role blends security responsibilities with hospitality focused service, ensuring our guests, team members, and property are protected while creating a friendly and supportive environment. You maintain a visible presence, manage access points, respond to police, fire, or medical situations, and complete safety inspections and incident reports. By working closely with public safety partners and resort leadership, you help ensure everyone feels safe and cared for. When you join the Smoky Mountain team, you become part of a company that values hospitality, teamwork, and growth.What You’ll Do as a Command Center Officer:Serve as the first responder to police, fire, and medical incidents within the scope of Security Officer dutiesMaintain a visible, uniformed security presence across assigned resort areasControl access at designated entry and exit pointsMonitor security systems, including surveillance cameras and fire alarm panels, in compliance with legal and company requirementsConduct routine safety and security inspections following established proceduresMaintain accurate security records, logs, and checklistsPrepare clear, timely, and detailed incident reports using computer systems and emailAssist guests and team members with security related concerns and service requestsManage lost and found inventory, key control, and accountabilityPerform traffic control, parking enforcement, assist public safety officers, and complete other duties as assignedQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.What You Will Bring as a Command Center Officer:High school diploma or general education degree (GED)Previous experience in security, law enforcement, military, or a related field is preferred (minimum of 1 year), but not requiredPossession of a valid Unarmed Security Officer license (as required by the state of employment) is a plus; however, we will assist qualified candidates in obtaining this certification if neededCertificate certificates in First Aid, CPR and AED highly preferred but not requiredPrior hospitality or guest service experience strongly preferredStrong verbal and written communication skillsProficiency with basic computer systems used to complete reports, logs, and email communicationAbility to remain calm and professional in high-pressure or emergency situationsExcellent judgment, integrity, and attention to detailRequirements:Must be at least 18 years of ageMust be able to lift 50lbsFlexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidaysRequired to pass a background check, drug test and motor vehicle record (MVR) checkRequired to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United StatesRequires physical stamina and the ability to work indoors and outdoors, remain on your feet for extended periods, climb stairs, and move quickly for short distances as neededAdditional InformationWhy Westgate?
