Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Yakima, Washington.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: ED - Emergency Department\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 09/21/2026\n Duration: 17 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Sep 21, 2026\n Length: 17 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III trauma Emergency Department position requiring 3+ years of high-acuity ED experience and a WA or compact RN license.Details\n \n 226-bed non-profit community hospital with a Level III trauma-designated Emergency Department\n 34 ED beds seeing 200-250 patients per day, organized into zones including a 13-bed fast track (green zone)\n Patient population spans neonate to geriatric, including pediatric medical and trauma cases, stroke, cardiac, and behavioral health/substance use disorder patients\n Handles transfer-out stabilization for neurosurgery, multi-system trauma, and high-acuity pediatric cases\n Patient ratios of 1:3-5 based on acuity\n Epic EMR required\n 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week\n Weekend rotation every other weekend, with occasional back-to-back weekends possible\n No floating and no on-call requirements\n Scrubs may be any color as long as they are logo-free\n Requirements\n \n Active WA or compact RN license required\n Minimum 3 years of experience in a large-volume, high-acuity Emergency Department\n Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC, and either PALS or ENPC\n Must pass the hospital's Triage Test prior to performing triage duties\n Experience with barcode scanning medication administration, medication drips, and blood product administration required\n Skilled in setting up chest tubes and arterial lines, and assisting with trauma and code cases\n Experience with splinting, BiPAP, and ventilators required\n Strong understanding of the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) required\n Pediatric emergency medicine experience highly preferred\n Point of Care Labs experience is a plus\n Additional Information\n \n Provide emergency care across the full patient age spectrum, including complex trauma, stroke, cardiac, and behavioral health cases\n Administer TNK for stroke patients and support cath lab coordination for cardiac cases\n Assist with stabilizing and transferring out neurosurgery, multi-system trauma, and high-acuity pediatric patients\n Recognized as the busiest Emergency Department in the state\n First-time travelers will not be considered for this position\n Weekend scheduling flexibility is requested due to occasional back-to-back weekend shifts\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-749298.
