Keeping a project on track takes more than a schedule. It requires clear communication, careful follow-up, and someone who can keep information organized as priorities change. We're looking for an Assistant Project Manager in Washington, DC to support project planning, coordinate activities, and help ensure that deadlines and deliverables stay on track.

You'll work alongside project managers and different internal teams, helping organize project information, monitor progress, and address routine issues before they become bigger obstacles. This role suits someone who enjoys bringing structure to busy projects and wants to develop their coordination and management skills.

Day to Day

• Assist with coordinating project plans, schedules, and deliverables
• Track milestones, deadlines, and outstanding tasks across active projects
• Gather updates from team members and maintain accurate progress records
• Prepare project summaries, status reports, and presentation materials
• Coordinate meetings, distribute agendas, and document follow-up actions
• Communicate changes, updates, and priorities to relevant team members
• Monitor project documentation and ensure files remain current
• Follow up on outstanding approvals, information, and assigned responsibilities
• Help identify scheduling conflicts, delays, and potential project risks
• Support resource planning and coordinate routine project requirements
• Maintain project trackers, spreadsheets, and internal systems
• Assist project managers with administrative tasks and process improvements

• Confidence using spreadsheets, email, and standard office software

• A practical approach to problem-solving
• The ability to work independently while supporting a wider team

Previous experience in project coordination, administration, operations, business support, or scheduling is helpful. Familiarity with project management software is an advantage, but training on internal systems and procedures will be provided.
