Mechanical Team Lead

Mechanical Team Lead – Chicago, IL We are searching for the Mechanical Team Lead at our Chicago, IL office. Key Responsibilities Assist the Mechanical Section Manager with management and culture of the overall business class by supervising a team of mechanical engineers, EITs and designers. Work collaboratively with fellow Team Leads, Tech Leads and the Mechanical Section Manager for staffing and project proposals. Provide team leadership focused on technical excellence, quality, recruitment, mentoring and staff development. Collaborate closely with mechanical market sector leadership to ensure technical excellence in all key markets. Act as design lead or engineering project manager for key projects. Implement, monitor and support company policy. Collaborate with other team leads, Section Manager, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts. Encourage and participate in work‑sharing and structural practice development with a nationwide network of HDR Mechanical Business Class. Assist in recruitment and growth of the business class. Perform other duties as needed. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering with Mechanical emphasis. Experience in developing and managing diverse teams. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Minimum of 7 years experience. Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role. Strong communication and listening skills. Ability to handle multiple assignments. Good leadership and organizational skills. Commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture. The expected compensation range for this position is $117,887.00 – $168,410.00 for full-time regular positions (the amount depends on skills, experience, education and location).
