CVOR Surgical Technologist Specialty: CVOR Surgical Technologist Assignment Length: 13 weeks with possible extension Hours per Week: 36 or 48 Schedule: Days Cardiac OR Surgical Technologist 36 or 48hr/wk, DEN rotation, weekends, holidays and on call per unit need Job Duties: The Adult Cardiac OR cares for a wide variety of patients. CABG's, TAVI's and Heart Failure (VAD's, ECMO, Artificial Heart and Heart Transplants) just to name a few. Using a multidisciplinary approach, the OR staff cares for patients of all ages. The Surgical Technologist will provide technical knowledge in preparing instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical procedures and assist the surgical team from the scrub position during an operation. Responsible for proper care and handling of instruments and facilitating room turnover between cases. Maintains sterile technique, safe handling of sharps and performance of surgical counts as per hospital policy. Demonstrates proper handling of solutions and pharmacologic agents under direction of a registered nurse. Must have 2 years’ recent experience in a cardiac operation room.
