Job Summary

Arthur Murray Orange City seeks passionate, energetic individuals to join our team as Dance Instructors. No prior teaching experience is required—just a love for dance and a willingness to learn. A typical day at Arthur Murray Orange City is a lively mix of dancing, networking, lesson planning, scheduling, event planning and advertising, and working together to keep our studio welcoming and clean for everyone. Each day offers a blend of creativity, physical activity, and professional interpersonal connections.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach Ballroom and Social dance styles to students of all levels

• Participate in ongoing training and professional development

• Maintain a clean and welcoming studio environment (We believe a clean and organized studio sets the tone for great dancing and great energy. That’s why part of each day includes contributing to the care and upkeep of our shared space.)

• Arrive 30 minutes early to all scheduled teaching sessions

• Work collaboratively with fellow instructors and studio staff

• Act professionally and respectfully toward customers, supervisors, and studio ownership

• Uphold the company Code of Ethics and Core Values

• Plan each lesson

• Student lesson plans should lead to an outcome such as a showcase or other goal as agreed by the student

• Every 8 lessons schedule a progress check

• Build Social Media Content and Post

• Actively participate in all studio events including Friday Parties (Prep, Dance, Clean)

• Support team morale and contribute to a positive work environment

• Study Arthur Murray syllabus and teaching methods

• Perform other duties as assigned by management/ownership

 

Minimum Qualifications

• Passion for dance and teaching

• Dancers with dance instruction skills preferred

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Strong team-oriented skills required

• Ability to work evenings and weekends

• Willingness to relocate or commute to studio location

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

 

Compensation

• Dance Instruction Pay: $18-$20/hour

• Non-Teaching rate: $15-$18/hour, maximum 5 hours per week

• Opportunity for performance-based bonuses
