About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President for its newly created income tax function. This leadership role is pivotal in building and overseeing the company's tax strategy, reporting, and compliance, with a focus on transitioning key responsibilities from external providers to an in-house model. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of tax operations, playing a critical role in supporting business initiatives such as M&A, legal entity structuring, and global expansion. A hands-on approach is essential, as the role requires both strategic oversight and direct execution. The VP will be responsible for all aspects of the income tax function, including tax provision, compliance, reporting, and planning, and must have a deep expertise in income tax accounting, particularly in ASC 740 and tax provision. Applicants for the Vice President, Income Tax position at the company must have a CPA and a minimum of 15-20 years' progressive tax experience, with a background that includes both public accounting and industry. The role demands a candidate with a proven track record in managing an income tax function, strong experience in domestic and international tax, and the ability to lead transfer pricing strategies. The ideal candidate will have a blend of Big 4/public accounting and corporate tax leadership experience, and a background in retail, consumer products, or a related industry is a plus. Key responsibilities also include partnering with external tax advisors and auditors, monitoring tax regulations, and implementing process improvements. The role requires a strategic thinker who is also comfortable with the hands-on aspects of tax management and is adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams.
