NCDIT - Senior IT Project Manager - Expert

Typical Experience 84+ months Role Overview This role will provide project management services to the N.C. Health Information Authority and the Government Data Analytics Center, supporting oversight of the technical implementation vendor, in close collaboration with NC Medicaid. The primary goal is to ensure project scope, schedule and budget risks are mitigated and the federally mandated deadline of January 1, 2027 is met. Responsibilities Responsible for the successful completion of end-to‑to‑end project work, including all work products. Oversee projects comprising multiple deliverables, delegating and coordinating tasks. Create and manage the integrated project plan; execute the plan; track project status, meetings, scope changes, risk, issues and mitigation; coordinate across project teams. Conduct negotiations internal and external to project teams. Manage scope, resources, timelines, costs, quality, communication and procurements to meet state goals. Develop and execute training and education on standard project management requirements and methods, facilitate governance and reporting, and create models to improve business decisions. Handle extensive changes to existing functionality or implementation of new applications and/or technology. Required/Desired Skills Experience managing Medicaid or health IT technical projects; related work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience – 3 years. Experience developing comprehensive and time‑sensitive project management plans, including scope, requirements, acceptance criteria and risk management – 3 years. Experience utilizing domain knowledge in clinical, incarceration, student enrollment, workforce development, and Medicaid enrollment datasets – 3 years.
