Job Summary:
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is a vital member of the healthcare team, responsible for performing both clinical and administrative tasks to support efficient and high-quality patient care. Working under the supervision of licensed healthcare providers, the CMA ensures a smooth patient experience by assisting with examinations, preparing exam rooms, updating medical records, and managing routine front-office operations.

Working under the supervision of licensed healthcare providers, the CMA ensures a smooth patient experience by assisting with examinations, preparing exam rooms, updating medical records, and managing routine front-office operations.
Key Responsibilities: Clinical Duties:
- Prepare patients for exams and procedures by taking vital signs and documenting medical history.
- Assist healthcare providers with examinations.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, perform basic lab tests, and administer medications or injections as directed.
- Conduct EKGs, wound care, and other diagnostic procedures within scope of practice.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
- Ensure infection control and sterilization protocols are followed.
- Greet patients, schedule appointments, and manage patient flow.
- Update and maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR).
- Handle insurance verifications, billing, and coding support as needed.
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries with professionalism.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
- Proficient in medical terminology, clinical procedures, and EHR systems.
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a team environment.
