Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Sous Chef, the Prep Cook is responsible for ingredient preparation and production support to ensure efficient daily kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation:

• Wash, peel, chop, slice, portion, and prepare ingredients.
• Prepare sauces, dressings, soups, stocks, and other foundational recipes.
• Assist with bakery and dessert preparation as needed.

Production Support:

• Set up prep stations and organize ingredients.
• Support cooks during peak production periods.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.

Sanitation:

• Maintain clean prep areas and equipment.
• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in hot, cold, and fast-paced kitchen environments.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions and operate commercial kitchen equipment safely.

Qualifications:

• California Food Handler Card required.
• Culinary training or kitchen experience preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement contributions, professional development opportunities, and tuition remission benefits.
• Salary range: $20/hr–$26/hr annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

While being vaccinated for COVID-19 is not required, it is strongly recommended.
