Job SummaryHeritage Post Acute of Florence is seeking a dependable and experienced Food & Nutrition Cook to join our Dietary Services team. The ideal candidate is passionate about preparing nutritious, high-quality meals while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. As a Cook, you will play an important role in enhancing the dining experience and overall well-being of our residents.
Responsibilities- Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes, and therapeutic diet orders.
- Ensure meals are prepared, portioned, and served on time.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, equipment, and food storage areas.
- Monitor food temperatures and maintain accurate documentation.
- Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food inventory.
- Work collaboratively with the Dietary Manager and dietary staff to ensure quality meal service.
- Follow all state, federal, and facility policies and procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service to residents, families, and team members.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous cooking experience in a healthcare, long-term care, hospital, or institutional setting preferred.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, therapeutic diets, and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and efficiency.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable attendance and a positive, resident-focused attitude.
