About the Position

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist - NICU Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT-NICU Duration: 13 weeks or 26 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:00) Experience: Minimum 1 year of NICU and cardiac PICU experience preferred License: Valid state license required Certifications: BLS, NRP, RRT required Must-Have: Level 4 NICU experience; ability to work weekends and holidays; competencies in various respiratory procedures; experience with specialized equipment such as Bunnell Jet Ventilator and HFOV 3100A Description: The Respiratory Therapist will provide care for patients in the neonatal intensive care unit, pediatric intensive care unit, and acute care pediatrics. The role requires strong communication and critical thinking skills. The therapist will work closely within a multidisciplinary team. The position involves working in various units and managing high-risk deliveries. The therapist must be comfortable using advanced respiratory equipment and performing specialized procedures. Competence in pediatric respiratory care and familiarity with conditions such as bronchopulmonary dysplasia and respiratory distress syndrome is essential. The therapist will also manage tracheostomy care and perform intubation assists as needed. Working hours will include every other weekend and every other holiday, with a requirement to work two out of three winter holidays. Self-scheduling is encouraged, but the desired schedule cannot be guaranteed.
