Job Details

Responsibilities:

As a Family Law Attorney, you will be expected to:

1. Represent clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to support the client in legal proceedings.
2. Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
3. Conduct research and analysis of legal problems to inform case strategy.
4. Prepare and draft legal documents, such as wills, deeds, patent applications, mortgages, leases, and contracts.
5. Negotiate settlements in civil disputes, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our clients.
6. Handle family law cases from initial consultation through trial, if necessary.
7. Guide clients through legal proceedings, such as divorce, seeking child and spousal support, and negotiating child custody.
8. Work on cases involving Child Protective Services (CPS) and adoption.
9. Handle courtroom hearings, mediations, and trials.
10. Conduct legal research and prepare legal briefs, memoranda, and other legal documents.
11. Advise clients concerning business transactions, claim liability, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations.

Qualifications:

1. Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
3. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in family law.
4. Proven litigation experience and familiarity with the processes and procedures of family law.
5. In-depth knowledge of legal research tools and proficiency in drafting legal documents.
6. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to resolve disputes efficiently.
7. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
8. High ethical standards and professional integrity.
9. Ability to manage multiple cases with varying deadlines.
10. Strong analytical skills and the ability to think strategically.
11. Proven ability to represent clients in court and manage legal proceedings effectively.
12. Experience in handling cases involving divorce, custody, child support, adoption, and CPS.
13. Proficient in all areas of family law litigation.
