Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Summary:

Seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to provide care on a Post-OP/Oncology/Telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will have experience managing oncology patients, post-operative care, and telemetry monitoring, ensuring safe and effective patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and manage patients with neutropenic precautions, infections, and complications.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips, including reading and responding to cardiac rhythms.
• Titrate drips such as Heparin, insulin, and nitroglycerin as required.
• Support patient care activities, including wound management, chest tube care, and assisting with daily treatments.
• Collaborate with RTs for respiratory equipment management, including CPAP and BiPAP.
• Document patient progress and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with recent experience in Oncology, MedSurg, or Post-OP units.
• Certification in BLS; ACLS and NIHSS preferred; ONCC or OS/ONS chemotherapy certification a plus.
• Ability to interpret telemetry strips and manage IV drips.
• Experience caring for oncology patients with complex needs, including chest tubes and PleurX catheters.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, every other weekend, and holiday rotation.
