Salary $132.49 - $225.23 Hourly $275,577 - $468,481 Annually This position is a Pay Band C20. About NMRC New Mexico Rehabilitation Center (NMRC) is a Joint Commission accredited specialty hospital providing rehabilitation services to citizens of the State of New Mexico. Why does the job exist? Provides specialty medical care to all rehabilitation patients at NMRC. Serves as Medical Director, supervising, evaluating, recommending, and supporting all medical services and programming in the hospital. Provides medical consultation and coordination of care with all departments including external stakeholders. Assists the Hospital Administrator in program development, enhancement & sustainment of services. Follows federal, state, and regulatory bodies’ rules and regulations that pertain to specialty hospital & rehabilitation. Directs the specialized care, including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, medication management, maintenance or preventative care, discharge planning, care plans, and multidisciplinary team coordination. Maintains safe, effective, quality of care at the hospital. Represents the hospital in community & professional health committees. Develops positive working relationships with all employees & departments. Fosters a culture of safety. How does it get done? Perform History & Physicals, Care Plans, Team Conference, daily rounds and patient visits on the MRU unit and assist on CDU unit when needed for coverage purposes. Provide on‑call support. Adhere to NMRC & DOH policies & procedures, Joint Commission and CMS regulatory accreditation requirements. Attend and play an active role in all NMRC committees that include but not limited to Policy Committee, Infection Control, Medical Records & Utilization Review, Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement, Medical Executive Committee. Review & approve referrals on both units and assist administration in maintaining adequate census on MRU and CDU. Who are the customers? NMRC is a specialty hospital that treats patients and clients with chemical dependency and medical rehabilitation needs. Ideal Candidate Will have a current medical license in NM. Experience working with adult post‑acute patients to include but not limited to rehabilitation and chemical dependency. Must be able to analyze medical health history data, physical examination data to form medical opinions, have excellent written and oral communication skills, be caring and compassionate, be a team player, and have the ability to supervise, teach, and mentor. Minimum Qualification License to practice medicine in New Mexico and board certification in one of the following specialties: Psychiatrist, OB/GYN, Internal Medicine, Family Practice, General Surgery, or Emergency Medicine. Active controlled substance license and DEA registration in NewMexico and six (6) years of experience related to the essential duties and responsibilities of this classification. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field above licensure requirements and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required experience. Employment Requirements The position is designated safety‑sensitive. Must successfully complete a post‑offer pre‑employment criminal background check. Employment is subject to pre‑employment and random testing in accordance with federal and state law. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. Successful completion of HIPAA training is required. Working Conditions Work is performed in a rehabilitation hospital setting. Exposure to VDT and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Long periods of walking, sitting, standing, bending and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds may be required. Exposure to potentially violent patients in a volatile situation. May be required to work weekends, holidays, and overtime. Some travel may be required.
