Winner Butcher is a neighborhood butcher shop in Brooklyn, NY. We break down whole animals in-house and sell fresh cuts, house-made sausages, and other prepared items directly to our community. About the Role:
We’re seeking a skilled and reliable Butcher / Meat Cutter with at least two years of experience to join our team. This position works closely with our Head Butcher and supports all aspects of meat fabrication, case setup, and customer service. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, take pride in their craft, and are excited to grow their skills in whole-animal butchery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cut and portion meats for the fresh case and custom orders, including beef, pork, and lamb
- Assist in whole animal breakdowns and value-added production
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work station
- Help set up, break down, and stock the fresh case and retail products
- Provide excellent customer service, answering questions and making recommendations
- Support the culinary team with internal orders for all Winner locations
- Follow all safety and sanitation protocols
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of professional experience in meat cutting or butchery (whole animal experience a plus)
- Interest in meat production and whole animal utilization
- Strong knife skills and attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively as part of a small team
- Comfortable lifting 60+ lbs and standing for extended periods
