Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an ICU position requiring telemetry experience (PCU or greater), working night shifts at a mixed medical/surgical ICU in Manchester, NH.

Job Details

• Mixed medical and surgical ICU in a hospital setting,
• 20-bed ICU unit located on Floor C,
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM,
• 13-week contract,
• Patient ratios vary based on acuity: ECMO 2:1, post open heart surgery and critical ICU/device patients 1:1, typical ICU assignment 1:2, stepdown assignments 1:3-4,
• Equipment used includes IV pumps, telemetry monitors, Hoyer/stand lifts, Impella, IABP, CRRT (NxStage), bladder scanner, Bair Hugger, rapid transfuser, Blanketrol, chest tubes, vein finder, Sorin retransfuser (post cardiac surgery), ventilator, high-flow nasal cannula, and BiPAP/CPAP,
• EMR: Sunrise (experience not specified as required),
• Every third weekend required; no on-call responsibilities,
• Floating to Progressive Care unit required,

Job Requirements

• Active NH or Compact RN license required and must be in hand prior to consideration,
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC accepted; no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of start),
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for ICU RNs,
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in the ICU specialty,
• Telemetry experience required; PCU-level experience or higher strongly preferred,
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration - no Canadian SSNs accepted,
• Professional reference required (two references required if candidate is from Florida or Missouri),
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months,

Additional Information

• Typical procedures include pericardiocentesis with drains, thoracentesis, central line insertion, arterial line insertion, chest tube insertion, intubation, TEE cardioversion, TTE, and transvenous pacing wire insertion,
• Unit staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 8-10 RNs, 1-3 LNAs, and a sitter PRN per shift,
• Preferred candidates will have experience with critical drips, ventilators, and prior ICU experience,
• An organized yet adaptable personality is the best fit for this unit,
• No dress code/scrub color specified,
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility - local candidates are not eligible,
• No previous work history gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
