About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (06:45 - 19:15) Experience: Minimum 2 years of critical care experience License: Active nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - CVICU experience or open heart experience - Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias - Experience with ECMO, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), and post cardiac surgery care - Skills in pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring - Experience with Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) - Knowledge of Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD/RVAD) - Proficient in arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care - Capable of continuous IV sedation and titration of cardiac drips - Experience in caring for ventilated patients - Ability to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) Description: This position requires a registered nurse to work in a cardiovascular intensive care unit. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of critical care experience, preferably in CVICU or open heart care. The role involves managing patients post open heart surgery, as well as those undergoing thoracotomies and esophagogastrectomies. Nurses will be responsible for the comprehensive care of patients, including using advanced monitoring equipment and protocols. Strong technical skills in managing complex care scenarios are essential. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, and float between units as required.
