Responsibilities

  • Weld plates to beams and columns on structural steel components that will be used in large structures nationwide.

  • Read and interpret welding blueprints and weld symbols to determine weld locations, sizes, and specifications.
  • Use a tape measure accurately to lay out and verify dimensions before and after welding.
  • Set up, operate, and adjust welding equipment to achieve high-quality, structurally sound welds.
  • Inspect welds visually and with measuring tools to ensure they meet quality, safety, and structural requirements.
  • Work with large structural beams and heavy steel components, ensuring proper handling, alignment, and fit-up prior to welding.
  • Follow established fabrication processes from cutting and bending through welding and finishing, as required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while adhering to all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other welders, fabricators, and production staff to complete projects on time and according to specifications.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 1+ years of MIG welding experience on structural steel or completion of formal welding schooling with a focus on structural welding.
  • Minimum 1+ years of Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) experience or equivalent training.
  • Proficiency in MIG welding and Flux-Core welding for structural applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints and weld symbols accurately.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the full steel fabrication process, including cutting, bending, welding, and coating.
  • Comfort working on projects of varying sizes, from smaller fabrications to large, complex structural assemblies.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing precise, high-quality welds.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training to further develop welding and fabrication skills.

Why Work Here?

You join a company that operates on a grand scale, delivering structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication for major building projects across the country. You benefit from day-shift work, structured hours, and access to training that supports your professional growth. You contribute to high-impact projects where quality, safety, and craftsmanship are highly valued, and you work with modern equipment and experienced colleagues who take pride in doing the job right, on time, and on budget.
