Labor and Delivery RN

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor & Delivery (L&D) at Northwell Health is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients during the labor and delivery process. This role is ideal for experienced nurses who excel in a fast-paced environment and are committed to patient-centered care. Highlights Location : Staten Island, NY Facility : Northwell Health Schedule : Full-Time What You'll Do Assess the patient’s physiologic health status. Conduct patient interviews and explain policies and procedures. Assess gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, and neurological health status. Determine mobility, sensory deficits, prostheses use, and skin condition. Assess level of pain and pain management. Communicate and document patient’s physiologic health status and plan of care. Elicit perception of medical/nursing care and expectations. Develop criteria for measurement of patient outcomes. Formulate the plan of care and establish priorities. Maintain constant vigilance over patient care to ensure safety precautions are followed. Requirements Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of professional nursing experience in the related specialty. Licenses & Certifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required. BLS certification required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
