Major duties and responsibilities include:

• Setting up food service counters, steam tables, dining room sets, and side service stands with hot and cold foods including meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter, and beverages.
• Serving food cafeteria-style to diners in serving line or serves tables family-style by placing dishes of food on tables and refilling as necessary.
• Preparing fruits and vegetables for cooking and serving by washing, peeling, scraping, and dicing.
• Cutting and shredding lettuce, slicing tomatoes, cutting lemons, preparing butter chips and opening cans.
• Making coffee, tea, ice water, and other beverages.
• Portioning out food by placing uniform amount in small serving dishes.
• Grilling fast food items such as hamburgers and using deep fat fryer.
• Cleaning equipment in kitchen and dining area.
• Washing dishes, pots, pans, coffee urn, glasses, and flatware.
• Sweeping, mopping, and waxing floors.
• Disposing of food waste and trash.
• Moving heavy garbage cans and assisting in unloading supply trucks and storing heavy supplies.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.
