Bus Driver PositionFunction: Under the direct supervision of the Facilities & Transportation Specialist, transport students to and from school and school activities on a district owned school bus. Essential Functions: Perform pre and post trip inspections. Drive designated AM and PM routes on school days. Supervise students while transporting them each day. Monitor and fuel up the school bus as needed. Clean the bus each day or as needed. Additional Duties: Communicate as needed with parents and the Facilities & Transportation Specialist. Assist with driving some extracurricular trips. Performs other related tasks as assigned by supervisor. Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities. Safety Requirements Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations pertaining to transporting students on a school bus. Wears appropriate safety gear. Implement routine safety inspections and bus evacuation drills. Participate in and pass required drug tests.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Possession of a current MN Commercial Drivers License (Type B) Ability to follow oral or written work orders from supervisor, and to coordinate work with principal and others. Ability to read, write and speak English fluently. Ability to describe orally or in writing cleaning, maintenance or repair problems as needed. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others contacted in the course of work. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure. Ability to drive in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow. Ability to perform work according to standard procedures and schedule set forth by supervisor(s).Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards Ability to drive in difficult weather conditions. Ability to supervise students. Ability to get on and off of a school bus frequently and facilitate bus evacuation drills. Qualifications Profile: High School Diploma or completion of sufficient education to successfully perform the duties of the position. Current MN Commercial Drivers License (Type B) FLSA Status: Non-exempt
