Janitor-Custodian

The Janitor, or custodian, must be able to take care of our building and carry out cleaning, and basic maintenance.

Job Description

• Clean and supply designated building areas (sweeping, mopping, cleaning restroom, organizing and other duties as required)
• Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects
• Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
• Adjust and minor repair, paint areas as required
• Stock and maintain supply room
• Follow all health and safety regulations, Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies

Job Requirements

Experience: Minimum 3+ years experience working as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic with a demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting. Prior experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment desired. Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities and quickly respond to minimize production delays.

Education: High School Diploma.

Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal communication. Must be able to understand and follow directions. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.

Technology: basic computer skills preferred.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work - Must be able to work rotating shifts and be available for overtime and weekend work, evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Work Environment - The position operates in a professional office environment using standard office equipment such as computers, iPads, phones, copiers, and filing cabinets. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and moving mechanical parts.
