Ultrasound Technologist

Role: Ultrasound Tech performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations under physician supervision to identify abnormalities and assist in patient diagnosis. Responsibilities Include Maintaining ARDMS and modality-specific competencies. Preparing patients, verifying orders, and ensuring proper identification. Performing high-quality exams, reviewing images, and ensuring accuracy. Instructing students and staff on protocols, procedures, and equipment use. Providing patient education, comfort, and addressing concerns. Practicing infection control and sterile techniques. Operating equipment and information systems to produce quality images. Maintaining accurate records and following protocols for documentation, coding, and reporting. Qualifications & Skills Certification with ARDMS relevant to the department, and BCLS certification. Proficiency in equipment operation, patient identification, documentation, communication, and teamwork. Ability to prioritize tasks, evaluate images, and respond effectively in emergencies. Experience Levels Ultrasound Tech I: ARDMS certification and BCLS, with foundational skills. Ultrasound Tech II: Additional years of experience, including pediatric experience, and advanced ARDMS registries.
