Physical Security Specialist

Summary About the Position: Serve as a Physical Security Specialist under the direct supervision of the Real Property Services Field Office and is responsible for the administration, operational oversight and implementation of the Construction Security Plan for RSFO and for the planning of all relevant activities connected to it, to include making appropriate determinations and preparing narrative reports explaining any violations of the CSP discovered on the work site and the corrective actions taken. Responsibilities Conduct security vulnerability and risk assessments of sites. Analyze the effectiveness of security plans and develop new measures to increase effectiveness. Serve as a technical expert on matters relating to security implementation. Coordinate with internal and external organizational elements to ensure project completion. Brief managers on program plans and levels of spending. Ensure compliance with security policies from government agencies. One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Interpreting security concepts, principles, governing regulations, policies, and directives; 2) Advising on security policies related to secure facility leases, designs, or construction projects; 3) Providing technical guidance and recommending engineering/procedural solutions to complex problems regarding security issues or multi-discipline security programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
