• nThe medical physicist works independently to provide medical physics support for the Radiation Oncology Department. In addition, provides medical physics support to Medical Imaging and other departments that utilize radiation producing equipment or radioactive material.\n

How You Will Fulfill Your Potential ( Responsibilities) \n

Perform Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT) & conventional 3D treatment planning. \n Review weekly patient charts & participate in chart rounds. \n Perform in-vivo dosimetry. \n Perform patient specific IMRT QA, second check of IMRT, and conventional treatment plans. \n Execute manual calculation checks on computerized treatment plan monitor unit. \n Perform monthly testing of all measurement equipment. \n Implement Low and High dose Rate treatment planning.

What You Bring (Qualifications) \n

Education/Accredited Programs

M.S. Radiological Sciences/Medical Physics. \n Minimum of three years of Medical Physicist experience.

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations

Board certification in Therapeutic Radiological Physics by the American Board of Radiology \n Professional License in Therapeutic Radiological Physics by the New York State Education Department.

Skills/Abilities

Requires an understanding of radiation physics, medical physics, radiobiology, accelerators, simulators, brachytherapy equipment, treatment planning systems and radiation safety.
