Mechanic, Line 1st Shift

Production Line Equipment Technician

Key Responsibility:

• Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production line equipment including fillers, conveyors, labelers, motors, and auxiliary systems.
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Install, align, and commission new equipment, including participation in plant expansions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues and implement timely corrective actions.
• Support production changeovers, line setups, and adjustments to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to support repairs and modifications.
• Perform minor fabrication and machining of parts as needed using shop equipment.
• Troubleshoot basic PLC-controlled systems and interface with controls technicians as needed.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns, including equipment shutdown, safety assessment, and controlled restart of operations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical certification or vocational training in maintenance, electrical, or mechanical disciplines preferred.
• 2 - 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance within manufacturing (aerosol, liquid filling, or similar environment preferred).
• Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of motors, drives, conveyors, pumps, and filling equipment.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting skills including motors, sensors, and control circuits.
• Experience with PLC systems (troubleshooting and basic diagnostics).
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
• Experience with preventive maintenance systems (CMMS preferred).
• Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Basic machining and fabrication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime, weekends, and emergency call-ins as needed.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Compensation: (For California, IL, and Remote positions only)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $25/hour in our lowest geographic market up to $37/hour in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Dependent on the position offered, other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
