Med Surg RN – Appointment in Mattoon, IL Capstone Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated Med Surg RN (Registered Nurse) for an assignment in Mattoon, IL within the Healthcare & Medical Services department. Utilize strong clinical judgment to prioritize care, manage multiple patients, and collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care. Initiate and manage IV therapy, wound care, post‑operative care, telemetry or cardiac monitoring as applicable, and ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record. Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, discharge instructions, and ongoing care needs, supporting safe transitions from hospital to home or other care settings. Delegate appropriate tasks to LPNs and CNAs, maintain infection control and safety standards, and participate in quality and performance improvement activities. Maintain strong communication, critical thinking, and time‑management skills while remaining calm and effective in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity environment. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Illinois. Experience in a medical‑surgical unit, including ability to manage complex patient needs. Proficiency in IV therapy, wound care, telemetry and post‑operative care. Excellent patient education skills and ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. Strong documentation practices in electronic medical records. Effective communication, critical‑thinking, and time‑management skills.
