Senior Center Program Coordinator

Location: San Francisco, California
Position Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Schedule: Monday–Friday, daytime hours
Local Travel: Required within San Francisco

Position Overview

We are seeking an energetic, community-focused Senior Center Program Coordinator to support programs that help older adults remain active, healthy, and connected. This position coordinates daily program activities, workshops, participant enrollment, community outreach, administrative functions, and services across multiple local sites.

The ideal candidate is bilingual, highly organized, comfortable working directly with seniors, and passionate about serving the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily senior center programs, activities, classes, and educational workshops.

• Assist with participant enrollment, referrals, and program documentation.

• Manage program schedules and coordinate staff coverage across service locations.

• Facilitate wellness workshops, educational classes, and outreach events.

• Build and maintain positive relationships with participants and community partners.

• Provide language assistance to participants with limited English proficiency.

• Coordinate partner meetings, take detailed notes, and track follow-up items.

• Maintain accurate participant records, operational documents, and program reports.

• Conduct site visits, program assessments, and community surveys.

• Collect donations and maintain accurate related financial records.

• Order, receive, organize, and track program supplies and inventory.

• Provide administrative assistance and serve as Staff on Duty when needed.

• Follow all organizational procedures, contractual requirements, and regulatory standards.

• Travel to additional program sites within San Francisco as required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

• Bilingual fluency in one of the following:

  • English and Spanish

  • English and Chinese

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database management systems.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail.

• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently.

• Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

• Availability to travel between local program sites.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one year of experience working directly with older adults or senior populations.

• At least one year of community outreach or public engagement experience.

• Diabetes Educator, Health Educator, or related certification is a plus.
