Position Overview & Schedule This is a full-time position requiring a baseline commitment of 30+ hours per week. Shift Structure: Three 12-hour shifts per week ( 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM ). Weekend Requirement: Full-time providers must work at least one weekend day each week. Key Responsibilities Clinical Care & Autonomy: Perform comprehensive physical examinations, preventive health screenings, and treat acute injuries/illnesses for patients of all ages. Diagnostics & Treatment: Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests (X-rays, labs, etc.). Formulate treatment plans, prescribe medications, recommend physical or inhalation therapies, and coordinate external specialist referrals. Emergency Response: Confidently respond to life-saving situations and run "codes" in accordance with clinical emergency protocols. Triage & Flow: Triage patients, obtain thorough medical histories, and execute clinical assessments. Maintain strong cross-disciplinary communication to manage patient flow and throughput efficiently. Collaborative Care: Practice strong clinical autonomy while seamlessly coordinating complex or escalated cases with an on-site Emergency Department Medical Doctor (ED MD). Clinical Procedures: Perform direct patient interventions within your scope of practice, including high proficiency with intravenous (IV) access for blood draws and fluid/drug administration. Documentation: Record all physical findings, histories, and individualized patient education plans accurately within the Experity EMR system. Role Requirements Experience & Licensure: Minimum of 1 year of experience in an Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care setting treating patients of all ages. Must have at least 1 year of SOLO provider experience in a clinical environment. For Out-of-State/Relocation Candidates: You must already have your California license active and in-hand, and have already paid for/initiated your California DEA address transfer. Required Credentialing Documentation Checklist: Current California Physician Assistant License (pocket card required at the time of credentialing). Evidence of current certification from the NCCPA. Current DEA Certificate with a registered California address. Up-to-date ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications through an American Heart Association (AHA) Certified Training Center. A comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV) displaying specific month/year dates for all training, education, and work history milestones up to the present. Preferred Skills: Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
