You will be responsible for developing and implementing testing strategies for banking applications. You are a problem solver who enjoys researching, creating, and executing test scenarios, and you are always looking for ways to recommend improvements. You believe in effective communication and are excited to address potential problems and solutions to complex issues with integrity, caring, and excellence in mind.What you'll do:Design, develop, and implement performance testing strategies for banking applications to evaluate scalability, reliability, and system resilienceCreate and execute performance test scenarios, including load, stress, endurance, and volume testing, using realistic workload models based on production usage and business requirementsAnalyze application and infrastructure performance using monitoring and observability tools to identify bottlenecks, diagnose root causes, and recommend performance improvementsPartner with Engineering, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams to resolve performance issues and optimize application performance throughout the development lifecycleIntegrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines and support automation-first, shift-left testing practices to improve software quality and deliveryManage performance test environments, test data, and testing tools to ensure accurate, repeatable, and reliable test executionPrepare and communicate performance test results, trends, and recommendations to stakeholders while supporting continuous improvement through performance tuning, incident analysis, and performance engineering best practicesAlways take action using Integrity, Caring, and Excellence to achieve all-win outcomesWhat you'll need:Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent relevant work experience5+ years of experience in performance testing, performance engineering, or application architecture with demonstrated success establishing performance testing strategiesDemonstrated ability to design and execute load, stress, endurance, scalability, and benchmark performance tests using tools such as StresStimulus, JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner, or comparable technologiesKnowledge of performance engineering standards, methodologies, and best practices, leading complex performance investigations, and influencing application architecture and technology decisionsAdvanced technical expertise in performance analysis and root cause identification, including database diagnostics, JVM turning, thread and heap dump analysis, and infrastructure monitoringAdvanced technical knowledge of Java, containerized applications, APIs, microservices, and scripting languages such as Python,.NET, or Node.jsProficiency with application performance monitoring (APM) and observability platforms such as Broadcom DX, Splunk, Dynatrace, OpenTelemetry or similar tools to analyze and correlate performance test resultsDeep knowledge of performance analysis and optimization techniques for relational and NoSQL database environmentsProven ability to integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines and implementing shift-left performance engineering practicesStrong background utilizing source code management and version control platforms such as GitHub and BitbucketStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with experience in Agile and regulated environmentsAdditional Preferred Skills:Experience using AI or developer productivity tools, such as GitHub Copilot or similar technologiesFamiliarity with enterprise integration technologies such as Red Hat Fuse, MuleSoft, Kafka, or IBM MQExperience testing high-volume transactional applications, batch processing, or distributed systemsExposure to resilience testing, fault tolerance, or chaos engineering practicesBackground supporting high available, mission-critical applications in a regulated environmentAbility to influence technical decisions and recommend performance improvements through data-driven analysisOur Benefits:Medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, and life insurance401(k) matchingGenerous holiday and paid time off scheduleTuition reimbursementExtensive health and wellness programs, including our Employee Assistance ProgramReferral bonus program + more!Since 1868, Frost has dedicated their expertise to provide exceptional banking, investment, and insurance services to businesses and individuals throughout Texas.
