divh2Physician - Primary Care - Westmoreland County/h2pThe Primary Care Physicians at Independence Health provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for chronic disease management, acute care needs, with a preventative care focus. Outpatient clinical responsibilities include Physicals, Annual Wellness Visits, and Well child checks, Paps, procedures, and initial diagnosis workups, acute care visits and chronic care follow-up visits (as determined by evidenced based medicine practices and patient needs), outpatient office call rotation requirements. Physicians utilize hospitalist services for inpatient care. The Physicians collaborate with other members of the care team including Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and other clinical and non-clinical staff in the team-based outpatient office setting to provide high quality care. The physician is responsible for being a provider leader in the team-based care setting, supervision of APPs, teaching, system stewardship, and modeling behaviors of excellence and compassion in the primary care setting./ppRequired Qualifications/Experience:/pulliGraduate of a medical school accredited by the LCME or ADA, OR/liliGraduate of AMA governed fifth pathway program, OR/liliGraduate of a medical school not otherwise mentioned with valid ECFMG certification AND graduate of accredited family medicine residency program./liliGraduate of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency program./liliStrong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice./liliStrong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience./li/ulpPreferred Qualifications/Experience:/pulliModel the ACGME six (6) core competencies./liliExperience in Healthcare setting./li/ulpLicense, Certification Clearances:/pulliCurrent medical license in the state of Pennsylvania./liliBoard certification in Family Medicine by ABFM or AOA or Board Certified in Internal Medicine by ABIM./liliAct 33 with renewal/liliAct 34 with renewal/liliAct 73 FBI Clearance/liliCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the America Heart Association (CPR and AED) program./liliValid DEA License./li/ulpPosition Type/Expected Hours of Work:/pulliIncumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.)./liliTravel may be expected locally between System locations./li/ulpEqual Employment Opportunity:/ppIndependence Health and its affiliated companies are Equal Opportunity Employers.
