Job Description As a Security Officer - Port in PORT HUENEME, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a government location, you will help maintain a secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, managing badges, and documenting access activity. You will provide professional customer service, communicate clearly with visitors and personnel, and use computer or tablet systems to support daily operations. Position Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $19.76 / Hour Job Schedule: DayTime Wed 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM Thur 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM Fri 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM Sat 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM Sun 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM What You'll Do: Provide customer service to authorized personnel, visitors, vendors, and/or contractors by carrying out site‑specific access control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities. Monitor access points at a government maritime transportation location, verify credentials and permissions, and maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and delivery records. Control entry and exit of personnel, vehicles, and materials in accordance with established procedures and applicable regulatory requirements. Respond to incidents, access concerns, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as needed. Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, facilities, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns. Minimum Requirements: Have at least one year of security‑related experience. Customer service experience is preferred. A Guard Card or license is preferred. Access control and badge experience is preferred. Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
