Lead Data Analyst, Product Performance & EngagementDisney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology (DEEPT) is seeking a highly skilled and self-driven Lead Data Analyst - Product Performance & Engagement to join the Product & Tech Analytics team. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with a deep analytical background who can independently design, execute, and deliver impactful insights that optimize Disney Streaming products (D+, Hulu). This role will be a generalist across all areas of Product, Content, Subscriber, Messaging and Churn spaces.You will be part of a multidisciplinary team of analysts and analytical engineers responsible for assessing and improving browse telemetry data quality and producing high-impact analysis of streaming product performance across Hulu and Disney+. Working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Data Engineering, and Analytics partners, you will help develop scalable solutions, ensure metric consistency, and uncover the "why" behind key product trends and anomalies.What You'll DoOwn User Behavior Analysis: Independently analyze user navigation and pathing data to uncover actionable insights and drive improvements to the Hulu user experience.Forensics & Root Cause Analysis: Drive rapid-response investigations and anomaly detection efforts to diagnose data or product issues and guide timely remediation.Drive Strategic Optimization: Develop and present recommendations for optimizing experiences, balancing business goals with user satisfaction.Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Act as a key partner to Product, Tech, Data Engineering and Data Product, and other teams to align analytics initiatives with overarching business strategies.Lead End-to-End Projects: Take full ownership of analytics projects, from identifying business needs and formulating hypotheses to delivering polished insights and recommendations.Build Data Visualizations: Create dashboards and advanced reports using tools like Tableau and Looker to track performance, trends, and experimentation outcomes.What To BringBachelor's degree in Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.7+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related discipline.Strong conceptual understanding of statistical theory, including hypothesis testing, probability distributions, sampling error, and confounding variables; ability to ensure that data collection and analytical frameworks adhere to sound statistical principles.Advanced SQL skills, with the ability to manipulate, cohort, and transform large datasets effectively.Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with experience delivering insights to stakeholders at all levels.A demonstrated ability to solve complex, ambiguous business problems with minimal guidance.Strong proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker) and the ability to communicate insights through compelling storytelling.Expertise with statistical tools (e.g., R, Python) and data warehousing concepts.Comfortable leveraging AI in analytics use casesExperience with one or more analytics areas in the streaming space, e.g. Product, Content, Subscriber, Messaging and ChurnNice-To-HavesAdvanced degree in Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.Ability to identify and appropriately call out issues to leadershipStrong motivation and ability to learn from questions and experiencesThe hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $141,900 - $190,300 per year and in New York, NY is $148,700 - $199,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
