Director of Engineering

Salary: $175,000 - 200,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors or masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• We look for at least 10 years of progressive engineering experience.
• We need at least 5 years of engineering leadership experience with a servant-leadership approach, a strong customer orientation, and a focus on product development flow.
• We require at least 5 years of experience leading small teams and building complex products in an agile setting.
• We want a proven record of scaling and guiding high-performing engineering teams.
• We expect the ability to balance strategic direction with hands-on execution.
• We look for a strong foundation in software development, architecture, and modern technology stacks.
• We value a passion for improving efficient software development practices.
• We need excellent communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills.
• We seek a strong track record of partnering with technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver strong products.
• We require experience with Agile software development methodologies; we use Kanban.
• Experience with Lean Software Development, DevOps, and CI/CD is a plus.
• We especially value expertise in ISO market operations, ISO regulations, and FERC compliance.
• Experience with Bid-to-Bill solutions in energy or commodities markets is highly desirable, particularly where these workflows intersect with ISO operations, regulatory compliance, and settlement processes.
• Energy industry experience or experience in equities or commodities trading is a plus.

• We forecast staffing and resource needs to meet business demand.
• We recruit, hire, and retain curious, driven engineers who are passionate about solving customer problems.
• We oversee the delivery of scalable, secure, and reliable software systems.
• We establish and track KPIs for quality, speed, and operational excellence.
• We advance best practices in software architecture, design, and testing.
• We ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and data protection standards.
• We stay informed about emerging technologies to guide strategic decisions.
