Location Gun Barrel City, Texas (Gun Barrel Village) Position Manager in Training – Operations Compensation Hourly: $10.35 – $10.35 Reporting Reports to Store Manager Summary The Manager in Training assists the Store Manager with overall operations and administrative duties, taking on supervisory control in the Store Manager’s absence. This role requires in-depth knowledge of all product areas, strong customer service delivery, and the ability to manage store assets while ensuring profitability and adherence to company policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of the store. Consult with the Store Manager to establish action plans that accomplish departmental and overall store goals, including selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling. Assume responsibility for the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager. Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments. Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability. Direct staff to complete department responsibilities and maintain standards. Keep the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends. Ensure quality customer service through proactive engagement with customers. Perform general administrative duties as needed and participate in training for Manager responsibilities. Promote and sell services and merchandise, upholding company policies and standards. Protect company assets and financial information by maintaining accurate internal controls and reporting potential fraud risks. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise employees in the absence of the Store Manager. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Interview, train, plan, assign, and direct work, and resolve employee matters. Qualifications Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel. 1–3 years of customer service experience. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to manage a team and stay aligned with overall goals and profits. Self‑starter with initiative and the willingness to take on important tasks independently. Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
