Senior Materials and Processes Engineer

Position SummaryOdyssey has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Acquisition Program Materials Engineer with carbon fiber composites expertise to support the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Agile Weapons Division ARRW program (AFLCMC/EBX ARRW). This position provides the knowledge and experience to efficiently and effectively deliver weapons systems engineering capabilities in support of the acquisition process.This position is located onsite at Eglin AFB, Florida. 9/80 work schedule is available.ResponsibilitiesDuties may include, but are not limited to:Assist with the design, development, qualification, and testing of warheads, including mechanical design, manufacturing, energetic fills, and aircraft integration.Test plan design, review and/or oversightMaterial review and qualification testingSupport penetration modeling (such as Penetration Curve/PENCURV), fragmentation and penetration performance analysis, fatigue and stress analysis, and insensitive munitions work in accordance with MIL‑STD‑810G and MIL‑STD‑2105C.Provide materials engineering support, including identifying suitable materials, advising on material composition and processing, and developing or improving fabrication and processing techniques.Perform testing and evaluation of materials, corrosion control, failure analysis, and contribute to developing or revising inspection techniques, specification standards, and maintenance procedures across the product life cycle.Travel to supplier and test sitesQualificationsMinimum Required Qualifications:Citizenship: Must be a US CitizenClearance: Current Secret Clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearanceEducation and experience:Bachelor of Science degree in related discipline and 8 years of relevant experience; OR Master of Science degree in related discipline and 6 years of relevant experience; OR PhD in related discipline and 2 years of relevant experienceExperience with composites (preferably carbon fiber)Preferred QualificationsCurrent Top Secret clearanceKnowledge of carbon process flow manufacturing techniquesFamiliarity with high temperature materials testingExperience with quality testing and reviewExperience developing and reviewing test plansExperience with armament systems (air-to-air, air-to-surface munitions, missiles, or related systems)Knowledge of DoD acquisition lifecycle processes and DoDI 5000 seriesAdditionally, the successful candidate will demonstrate the following:Technical SkillsRisk management and technical problem-solvingConfiguration management and technical documentationInterpersonal SkillsAbility to operate independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering teamStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to support complex, mission-critical programsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentAdditional InformationLocation: Eglin AFB, FLTravel: 25-50%Work Environment: Onsite. 9/80 work schedule is available.#LI-TG1Company OverviewOdyssey is a world-class technical, engineering, and integration company serving the warfighting ecosystem with airborne integration, ISR, C2, and warfighter readiness capabilities.
