As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.Job responsibilitiesDesigns, develops, and troubleshoots creative software solutions, thinking beyond conventional approaches to solve complex technical problemsLeads the adoption and integration of cutting-edge technologies including Java, Spring, Springboot, React, and KafkaDevelops secure, high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersDefines and drives the technology roadmap, focusing on next-generation data, analytics, and automation platformsChampions the use of AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics to deliver real-time trade processing applicationsIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsDesigns and implements data pipelines, analytics workflows, and reporting solutions using Python, Databricks, and SparkDevelops and maintains web-based applications and dashboards using modern web stacks (React, Angular, etc.)Builds and optimizes data models, ETL/ELT processes, and integration frameworks for large-scale financial dataEnsures data quality, security, lineage, and governance across all team platformsDrives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident/root-cause analysis support), while establishing consistent validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team.Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.Required qualifications, capabilities, and skillsFormal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 7+ years applied experienceHands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and maintaining operational stabilityHands-on expertise in Java, Spring, Springboot, Maven, Kafka, and modern web technologies such as ReactStrong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Lambda, ECS, EC2, and TerraformProficiency in automation and continuous delivery, including CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions and AWS CodePipelineAdvanced proficiency in designing scalable, secure, and resilient systems for large-scale data environmentsDemonstrated ability to lead engineering teams, set technical direction, and deliver complex projectsHands on experience in leading and implementing standard software engineering practices, such as Agile development, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and documentationPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsProven experience in financial markets, Futures & Options, and Trade Execution/ClearingKnowledge of AMPS (messaging platform), MQ, Cucumber Integration Tests, JUnit, Mockito, and Testcontainers JPMorganChase, one of the oldest financial institutions, offers innovative financial solutions to millions of consumers, small businesses and many of the world’s most prominent corporate, institutional and government clients under the J.P.
