Quality Technician, Energy StorageRedwood is localizing a global battery supply chain that seamlessly integrates recovery, reuse, and recycling — keeping critical minerals in circulation and driving the energy transition. Founded in 2017, we're delivering low-cost and large-scale energy storage and producing battery materials in the U.S. for the first time, all from batteries we already have.Redwood is looking for a highly motivated Quality Technician with broad experience across incoming quality, process quality, and customer-facing quality activities. The Quality Technician will be responsible for identifying quality issues across the manufacturing environment, supporting investigations and root cause analysis, collecting relevant process and product data, and managing non-conforming material. This person will work closely with production and engineering teams to maintain rapid response and drive continuous improvements to the production process.The ideal candidate brings a self-starting mindset with a strong drive to solve complex problems, along with a get-it-done attitude, willing to jump in, take end-to-end ownership, and do what is needed to support the team.Hours:Full-time, Monday–Friday (initial schedule). This role will transition to a 12-hour shift schedule: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Sunday–Tuesday (every other Wednesday) or 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Thursday–Saturday (every other Wednesday)Flexibility to support different shifts as the operation scales is requiredResponsibilities will Include:Conduct inspections, audits, and testing to evaluate product and process performanceDrive root cause investigations for product, in-process, and incoming quality issuesCollect and analyze product and process data with engineering teams to ensure specifications are well-defined and metSupport the control and disposition of non-conforming materialAssist with Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plan activities to identify and mitigate manufacturing risks before they become quality issuesAnalyze production data using quality tools to identify potential non-conforming or at-risk materialProvide sampling support for in-process and finished product as requiredSupport management of change initiatives across the organizationCollaborate with engineering teams to validate new product designs, equipment, and processesWork with cross-functional teams to meet safety, quality, and production goalsPerform rework on non-conforming material to recover final yieldDesired Qualifications:Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, or related fields2+ years of experience in manufacturing environments (technician, engineering tech, or similar role)Strong safety discipline (LOTO, PPE, safe work practices)Experience in transitioning operations from development to high-volume manufacturingExperience with the development and use of quality tools as well as other quality system elementsPrevious exposure to quality systems and international standardsAdept with process data acquisition and quality analysis toolsStrong communication and teamwork skills; able to work effectively with engineers and stakeholders across levelsA passion for sustainability and making the world a better place!Physical Requirements:Standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and performing repetitive motionsWorking Conditions:Indoor production environment with typical exposure to noise, machinery, and industrial conditionsThe position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
