Veterinary Extern - General Practice

Overview An externship experience at an NVA hospital will give veterinary students the unique opportunity to understand day‑to‑day operations of the practice and to gain valuable hands‑on clinical experience. Responsibilities Gather patient histories Perform physical examinations Create treatment plans and perform diagnostics Provide dentistry services Observe, assist, or perform surgical procedures Manage medical treatment of patients Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients Eligibility and Stipend All veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend.
