ABOUT US:

Fun Nest is a licensed, home-based early childhood education program in Erie, Colorado, with dedicated classrooms and small class sizes.

Beginning in October, Fun Nest will enter an exciting new chapter as a Christian early childhood education program, where faith, learning, and nurturing care come together. We are looking for a warm, qualified, and passionate Preschool/Pre-K Lead Teacher who is excited to grow with us during this new chapter.

Our Preschool/Pre-K classroom serves a maximum of 6 children, allowing our Lead Teacher to provide individualized attention, build meaningful relationships, and create a structured, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are hiring a full-time Preschool/Pre-K Lead Teacher (40 hours/week) to lead our classroom using the HighScope curriculum and its active participatory learning approach.

The Lead Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate learning experiences that support children's cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and spiritual development while creating a classroom where children feel safe, loved, supported, and excited to learn.

As we transition into a Christian program beginning in October, Christian values, prayer, and age-appropriate biblical principles will become an intentional part of our daily classroom experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Plan and lead engaging, developmentally appropriate daily learning experiences using the HighScope curriculum and its active participatory learning approach, including Plan-Do-Review
• Create a warm, safe, nurturing, organized, and inclusive classroom environment where children feel supported, valued, and excited to learn
• Support Kindergarten readiness through early literacy, language development, problem-solving, independence, social-emotional development, movement, and purposeful play
• Adapt learning experiences and teaching strategies to meet the individual developmental needs of each child
• Use positive guidance and effective classroom management strategies to encourage independence, emotional regulation, problem-solving, and respectful behavior
• Beginning in October, incorporate Christian values, prayer, and age-appropriate biblical principles into classroom routines, circle time, and learning experiences
• Observe, assess, and document children's development and progress regularly
• Communicate clearly and professionally with families about their child's development, milestones, classroom experiences, and any areas that may need additional support
• Maintain a clean, organized classroom that meets Colorado child care licensing requirements for health, safety, supervision, and documentation
• Collaborate with the Director and teaching team in curriculum planning, professional development, and school activities
• Help shape a positive classroom culture as Fun Nest begins an exciting new chapter as a Christian early childhood education program.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

• Qualified as a Teacher through Colorado Shines (PDIS), or actively working toward that qualification
• Previous experience working with preschool-aged children preferred
• Experience with HighScope is a plus, but we are happy to support a teacher who is motivated and willing to learn the curriculum
• A personal Christian faith and genuine enthusiasm for incorporating Christian values, prayer, and biblical principles into early childhood education
• Current CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain it before starting
• Ability to successfully complete all Colorado-required background checks and fingerprinting for child care staff
• Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices
• A warm, patient, dependable, and enthusiastic approach to working with young children
• Strong communication, organization, classroom management, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a small and supportive teaching team
• Someone who values consistency, professionalism, teamwork, and meaningful relationships with children and families.

SCHEDULE, PAY & BENEFITS:

• Full-time — 40 hours/week
• Monday–Friday — no weekends
• $21–$23/hour, based on experience and qualifications
