Maintenance Repairer 1Northwestern State University is currently accepting applications for the Maintenance Repairer 1 position. This role supports the daily grounds maintenance operations of the University's nearly 900-acre campus. The Maintenance Repairer 1 helps ensure that the campus environment remains clean, safe, and visually appealing for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.Minimum Qualifications:One year of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR Six semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses.Job Specification:The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.Job Duties and Other Information:Job Duties:Perform general grounds maintenance, including mowing and trimming tasksMaintain landscaped areas, including flower beds, shrub trimming, and minor tree trimmingAssist with basic irrigation system maintenance and minor repairsEmpty exterior trash receptacles and assist with litter removal across campus grounds, including fallen limb pickupOperate tractors, mowers, and other grounds maintenance equipment for light grounds workAssist with nuisance wildlife management activities when necessaryPerform pressure washing and other exterior cleaning as neededComplete other outdoor maintenance and grounds duties as assignedPosition-Specific Details:Appointment Type: ProbationalLocation: Natchitoches, LouisianaDepartment: Physical PlantSchedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.How To Apply:No Civil Service test score or assessment is required to be considered for this vacancy.To apply for this vacancy, click on the "Apply" link above and complete an electronic application, which can be used for this vacancy as well as future job opportunities.
