Assistant Controller

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Controller to join a family-owned and operated business located in the Sacramento area! This role requires a start-up mindset, with a focus on enhancing and streamlining processes. Core duties and responsibilities include:

• Streamline communication between office and field teams to ensure accurate financial data flow.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify relationships in the data and relay actionable insights to the team.
• Oversee the General Ledger, financial reporting, and budgeting processes.
• Create and present financial data for division review during monthly meetings.
• Collaborate with the CFO to design and implement policies and procedures.
• Lead and manage the job costing team within a collaborative team environment.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 3+ years of experience in Finance / Accounting within the commercial construction sector, including job costing, general ledger, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Experience with multi-company oversight, including acquired and start-up businesses.
• Proficiency with ERP systems, specifically ECMs by Computer Guidance Corp.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is from $90K to $115K, depending on experience.
